Ward 15/16 cares for children from 0 to 16 years old. They have a wide variety of conditions. All children are looked after by a doctor who specialises in their particular condition, but there’s also a special team on the wards who know how best to look after children.
The ward is especially designed to create a positive experience during your stay in hospital. The focus is on you and your family, and making sure you’re as happy as possible. Being happy helps you get better.
Parents and guardians are allowed to stay with their child as much as they like, even staying over in special beds we can provide. Other visitors are also welcome between 3pm and 4pm, 6pm and 7pm. The ward has a buzzer system so people can ring for entry.
You’ll get three meals every day. There’s also a school on the ward for your lessons, and loads of games to play – including a X-Box! Older boys and girls are also kept in separate parts of the wards, because we find you prefer it that way!
The ward tries to be as welcoming and happy a place as it can be, and everyone there wants you to get better as soon as possible.
